Mon, 24 Nov 2003 Dear Sirs: My concern is the impact that potential development will have on the Cawthra Bush. The townhouse complex that was intended to be one bed room, one story units has now jumped to three bedroom, two story units. If the area is going to be redeveloped it will result in an instant population explosion. As there are too few parks in the area, people will use the Cawthra Bush as a recreation area. The Jefferson Salamander lives in the Cawthra Bush; it is a nationally threatened species and is very sensitive to development. There are vernal ponds with fairy shrimp and chimney building crayfish. Plants that are rare to the Peel Region old growth ecosystem live there too. We are fortunate to have this complex ecosystem in such an urbanized area but with this intense development the Cawthra Bush will likely deteriorate. Please reduce the density of the proposed subdivision so that the Cawthra Park keeps its environmental significance. Thank you, Virginia Hughes PLEEASSE SIGN OUR PETITION It will make a difference!
